FontAgent Application Window Panes
The FontAgent® application window is divided into three columns, and also includes a toolbar at the top of the window.
Sets Sidebar – left column
Select sets and groups of fonts that you can view and manage.
Properties Sidebar – right column
View properties for the currently selected font or set.
Main Window – center column
View and compare fonts in their native typefaces.
Adjust the sizes of the window panes by dragging their divider bars. Click the far-left and far-right buttons in the top Toolbar to hide and display the sidebars.
Sets Sidebar – Left Column
The Sets Sidebar appears on the left side of the FontAgent application window and lists sets, which are logical fonts in your database. The blue number to the right of each set shows the number of fonts in the set. Select a set to display its font contents in the Main Window.
Font Catalog – Top Center
The Font Catalog appears at the top center of the FontAgent app window and contains these views:
- Table View – Displays a sortable table of font names, properties and metadata
- Image View – Shows fonts in their native typefaces along with summary properties
- Tile View – Shows fonts in large, square tiles for easy preview and comparison
Click the icons on the left of the top toolbar to toggle between the views.
Font Viewer – Bottom Center
The Font Viewer appears at the bottom center of the FontAgent app window and contains these views:
- Player View – Plays a slideshow of fonts in customizable text, formats and colors
- Compare View – Lists selected fonts or sets in the same text and colors
- Glyphs View – Displays a grid of character glyphs for a selected font
- The Tags and Comments View – Enter custom metadata as tags and comments to make searching and organizing your fonts easier
Click the tabs at the top of the viewer to toggle between the views.
Properties Sidebar – Right Column
The Properties Sidebar appears on the right side of the FontAgent application window and displays the properties of fonts and sets, showing file information, style details, ratings, activation state, set membership information, as well as foundry information.
Toolbar – Top of Window
The Toolbar appears at the top of the FontAgent application window and contains buttons you use control how FontAgent appears and functions.
Top-Left Toolbar Controls
Use the top-left toolbar buttons to:
- Show and hide the Sets Sidebar, which lists your defined sets
- Control whether the Main Window displays the Table, List or Tile View
- Import new fonts into your FontAgent database
Top-Right Toolbar Controls
Use the top-right toolbar buttons to:
- Initiate a Smart Search
- Activate and deactivate fonts
- Sync your FontAgent database with your workgroup or enterprise (Sync and Connected Editions)
- Upload files to the FontAgent Server in the cloud (Sync and Connected Editions)
- Show and hide the Properties Sidebar, which displays the properties of fonts and sets
